Accessibility

I would like as many people as possible to be able to use this site.

The pages have all been written so that all text is scalable. To adjust text sizes use View / Text Sizes in Internet Explorer or alternatively Ctrl + / Ctrl – in Firefox or Navigator.

Pages have been successfully checked for acceptable contrast between text and background.

All images have ‘alt’ tags and should give verbal descriptions when used in a text reader.

A limited number of pages have been checked in Lynx (text-only) and in Jaws (text reader). I intend to check all pages and put right any major issues that we find.

All pages use separate style sheets. You should be able to use your own style sheet if you prefer.

For further accessibility options use Control Panel/Accessibility Options from your Start menu (Microsoft Windows) or the equivalent in other operating systems.

If you would like to see more detail, you can enlarge pictures and maps, depending on your browser. Holding down the control key and pressing the + key on the keyboard (repeatedly if you wish) or selecting View/Zoom/Zoom-in on the menu bar at the top of the screen may let you do it... If there is the option, make sure that ‘zoom text only’ is NOT selected. Control and zero together, or View/Zoom/100% should restore the screen size to normal.

If you find any problems or would like to offer suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact me .
