Granton Harbour
Granton Harbour played a major role in the development of the area.
The first page below gives an overview of the harbour, with the 1955 handbook showing more detail about the history and the harbour as it was then. We then present some pictures of the harbour.
Further pages give information about a dredger that kept the harbour free of silt, and the Lighthouse depot. The page on the Lighthouse Board vessels gives details of all the Board's vessels - they had a base at Granton.
Finally we have a page on esparto grass, a major import at Granton for many years.
