Industry
The Granton area contained a number of major industries over the years, and we have pages on some of the main ones.
Granton Gas Works was a major employer, as was Bruce Peebles, who manufactured electrical equipment.
The Madelvic car factory had a short life but an interesting one. The quarry and the wireworks lasted longer, as did Ferranti's.
Tubulayr Products Ltd were ‘stainless steel specialists’, making among other products the Aeratone hydrotherapy bath in premises near the Northern Lighthouse Board depot.
