Reproduced from 1895 Ordnance Survey® map

These images are of an Ordnance Survey map published in the 1890s, which has been marked up to show details in connection with an Edinburgh Corporation proposal in 1900. The original was lent to us by the owner, Scott Brown, the former proprietor of the Starbank Inn, to whom we are most grateful.

The original scale of the map was 1:2500, approximately 25 inches to the foot, and the map we have used is made up of two adjacent sheets (1.14 and 1.15) which had been carefully pasted together.

A reprint of the eastern map, sheet 1.15, at a reduced scale of 1:4340 is avilable to purchase from Alan Godfrey Maps online or may be available from local bookshops.
